Taylor Harrison has been retained by a respected overseas bank seeking to strengthen its Board with the appointment of a new Chair of Audit and Chair of Risk & Compliance.
Both roles will provide oversight, scrutiny, and leadership to an established executive team, ensuring a constructive top-down approach that enables the Bank to meet its strategic objectives while maintaining legal, regulatory, and shareholder expectations. These positions require individuals who can exercise due diligence in decision-making, scrutinise executive performance, and hold leadership accountable where necessary. Additionally, both roles will foster professionalism across the organisation, establish effective relationships and communication channels within the wider group, and proactively support the Bank’s values and ethos.
For the Chair of Audit, we invite applications from individuals who are serving as a Chair of Audit (SMF11) or Non-Executive Directors, who are either currently or have previously been approved by the UK regulator. Candidates must have experience of operating within an international banking environment, be qualified accountants with recent and practical experience in accounting practices, be able to evidence high-level knowledge of technical internal auditing and possess in-depth understanding of the principles and practice of good corporate governance.
For the Chair of Risk & Compliance, we seek individuals currently holding the position of Chair of Risk (SMF10) or Non-Executive Directors, who are either currently or have previously been approved by the UK regulator. The ideal candidate will be an expert in risk management with experience gained from within an international banking environment, have a strong grasp of banking regulation and be able to evidence a deep understanding of all risk classes especially financial crime.
To succeed, candidates must possess the gravitas, independent judgement and tenacity to inspire confidence, challenge executive thinking and communicate with clarity and integrity.
