Our client is an overseas bank providing private banking and commercial lending facilities to non-UK residential clients. To strengthen its Executive team, the Bank is seeking an Operations Director to be responsible for domestic operations, customer service, international payments, funds transfer, trade finance operations, facilities & administration, and operational resilience. This SMF24-approved role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is based at the Bank’s London headquarters. Please note: this is an office-based role.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, hands-on industry expert to lead and enhance the Bank’s operational capabilities in line with its evolving ambitions. The successful candidate will drive a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring operational growth and service excellence. In addition, they will define and execute the Bank’s digital and technology strategy, aligning it with broader business and group objectives.
We are seeking a confident, charismatic leader with strong personal credibility and influencing skills to engage effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and business needs. Candidates must demonstrate extensive experience in operations leadership within a commercial lender, private bank, or building society. A strong customer ethos and commitment to service excellence are essential, along with proven expertise in driving digital transformation and change management. Given the regulatory nature of this role, we will only consider applicants who have previously held SMF24 approval or can demonstrate the knowledge and expertise required to obtain FCA approval.
Please note: This role attracts a basic salary up to a maximum of £150,000 per annum, with a modest bonus and benefits package.
